About the Opportunity

Ord Valley Aboriginal Health Service (OVAHS) is looking for an Aboriginal Health Practitioner to join their team in Kununurra, WA on a full-time basis.

Reporting to the Health Operations Manageryou will be providing primary health care and support to doctors, nurses or other allied health staff to ensure care is patient-focused and centred on the needs of Aboriginal patients, in line with their cultural identity, family and social circumstances.

About You

To be considered for this position you will be recognised by AHPRA as a qualified Aboriginal Health Practitioner, with a practicing certificate and a Certificate II in Medications. Newly qualified practitioners are welcome to apply, though experience will be highly regarded.

You will need to demonstrate an understanding of the issues faced by Aboriginal people in rural and remote areas and the impact these have on health and wellbeing, with solid clinical assessment skills and an understanding of the Medicare Benefits Schedule.

Please note: The successful candidate will require a current ‘C’ class drivers licence, and either hold or be willing to obtain National Police Clearance and Working with Children clearance prior to commencement.
