Applicants for this position must be of Aboriginal descent through parentage, identify as being Aboriginal and be accepted in the community as such. An applicant’s race is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under Section 14(d) of the NSW Anti Discrimination Act 1977.
This recruitment may be used to fill future positions via an eligibility list for permanent, full time, part time, temporary and casual positions.
What you’ll be doing
Provide flexible, holistic and culturally sensitive health care to Aboriginal patients in the hospital setting. Provide support and advice to community to achieve better health outcomes and better access to health services for Aboriginal people.
The Aboriginal Hospital Liaison Officer is a vital conduit and advocate for all Aboriginal people presenting to the hospital and provides support as required to patients and their families. Support will be provided in all health facilities across the Central Coast.
This role best suits Aboriginal health worker, Aboriginal Health practitioner or a Principal Aboriginal Health worker
