WHY are we recruiting?

Due to the consistent national growth across all businesses, the need for a process driven Accounts Payable & Receivable Payroll Officer is required. 

WHO will you be reporting to, and what are your responsibilities?

Reporting directly to the Assistant General Manager, you will be responsible for all organisation’s payroll services, including compilation and preparation of all payroll-related information for employees, including salary payments, leave entitlements, superannuation, and monthly and annual reconciliations ATO payments, and PAYG summaries.

Key Tasks/Responsibilities

  • Processing payroll of 300+ casual staff and 180 permanent staff per week
  • Processing and approval of all timesheets through EntireHR
  • Applying invoice late fees in line with our Terms Of Business
  • Debt collection 
  • General ad-hoc group admin and accounting
  • Ensure the timely and accurate process of the payroll in line with the Fair Work Act and relevant awards.
  • Calculate, reconcile and make payments for superannuation, income tax deductions, and payroll tax monthly.
  • Maintain all personnel records and ensure retention of documents in line with legislative requirements.
  • Answer any queries from employees promptly.
  • Calculate Workcover obligations in line with legislation and make payment by the due date.
  • Maintain Workcover records, including details of any accidents or incidents in the workplace.
  • Assist with the return to work plans for employees who have suffered a workplace injury.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all payroll legislation, rates, and awards as needed by the organisation. In addition, understand all the requirements of the Fair Work Act.
  • Ensure that a high level of confidentiality is maintained at all times.

Skills and Experience

  • Xero payroll certification 
  • Debt collection tactics
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with payroll processing.
  • High level of knowledge of payroll processing procedures.
  • Good understanding of the Fair Work Act and awards applicable to the organisation.
  • General legislative and regulatory requirements as they pertain to this role.
  • High-level communication skills.
  • Well-developed time management skills.
  • Able to provide exceptional internal customer service.
