An exciting opportunity for an experienced administration assistant to join a State Government department. This role requires you to work full-time hours, on an initial temporary basis. This department is based conveniently near public transport and public parking. This department requires someone available to start ASAP.
Your new role
As an experienced Administration assistant you will be responsible for taking on a range of office duties, in which will support the workflow of a busy team. Your duties will include:
Provide customer focused administrative support and secretarial service to the project team.
Performs role of minutes secretary at meetings including preparation and distribution of agendas and minutes and following up actions on behalf of the project team
Receives and distributes incoming and outgoing correspondence and files for the management team
Verifies and arranges payment of accounts using financial management systems and provides maintenance of contract documentation.
Carries out other tasks and functions that are within the limits of the employee’s skills, competence and training as required
What you’ll need to succeed
Previous experience in a similar role within a Government department is desirable. You will also have experience in the following:
Experience providing customer focussed administrative and/or secretarial support service in an infrastructure project environment
Well developed written and verbal communication skill as well as interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a team
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Demonstrate ability to competently use relevant computer software packages
