Overview:
Full-time, Fixed Term position until December 2023

Salary Level HEW 4 + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements

Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University

About You

As the Administrative Assistant, Enrolment and Fees, you will be responsible for providing a high level of service and expertise regarding a range of processes and tasks relating to the effective delivery of key student enrolment functions. These include assisting in the resolution of issues, application of relevant procedures and practices to manage the accuracy and legislative reporting requirements around enrolments, liaising and building relationships with RMIT’s colleges and schools and university-wide staff.

You will be the first level of response to student enquiries via the SMP portal and occasionally provide face to face service. As the successful candidate, you will update and manage student records and bring a proactive and ‘can do’ attitude to the student lifecycle experience.

The position will also provide enrolment support across Enrolment and Student Records as required.

Occasional evening and weekend work and restrictions on annual leave may be necessary during peak periods.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have:
Demonstrated experience in the provision of excellent administration services, including knowledge of relevant University policies and procedures.

Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and handle administrative tasks accurately and promptly.

Excellent communication skills, including skills in persuasion, information exchange, gaining assistance and in perceptively assisting the team to manage workloads, timelines, and relationships.

Demonstrated ability to respond appropriately to sensitive information and situations; including demonstrated cultural sensitivity and cross-cultural communication skills.

Effective self and work organisation skills, including ability to work quickly but accurately, ability to meet deadlines and handle pressure of work volume, ability to prioritise own tasks and capacity to work as part of a team.

Demonstrated ability to contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and processes in a service-oriented environment.

Ability to use a range of information and communication technologies effectively including Microsoft Office software packages, web & email software, database use and management.

About the Portfolio

The Education Portfolio is headed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education and Vice President who leads the planning and implementation of the University’s strategies related to RMIT’s academic programs and the RMIT student experience. The Portfolio is responsible for services to support the quality of RMIT programs, including the professional development of academic staff, continuous improvement of the student experience, learning and teaching outcomes and the management of learning and research information sources.

The Education Portfolio plays a key role in empowering students to access education, participate actively in the life of the University and achieve successful and fulfilling lives beyond graduation.
