Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is a volunteer-based emergency service. Our highly skilled and equipped Volunteers are trained comprehensively in a wide range of emergency environments. To minimise the impact of emergencies when they occur and strengthen the community’s capacity to recover swiftly and safely, VICSES focuses on working with communities and partners in building resilience to achieve more aware, informed and prepared communities. We support them to understand their risk and the relevance of taking action before, during and after emergency events.

As the largest road rescue network in Australia we have specialist teams that provide a 24/7 response to road accident and trauma incidents. We assist Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important role in supporting the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV), Parks Victoria and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) during major bushfire and emergency incidents.

This position is available due to VICSES implementing a new operating model with a change to the structure of roles, to best serve the needs of our community and our people.

This role focuses on ensuring that the finance managed systems are developed and supported meet the business needs and business processes of VICSES. This includes providing timely systems support and guidance to end users and triage of emails and support requests.

Enhance VICSES financial management capability by implementation, maintenance, development, support and training with finance systems currently, accounting/general ledger (SAP), lease accounting (LOIS), corporate card management (SDG2), banking (Commbiz) and volunteer unit accounting (Reckon One).

Enhance VICSES ability to meet statutory and legal obligations of VICSES in relation to the Financial Management Act and the Victorian Government Financial Management Compliance Framework by coordinating the review, development, update and communication of policies, procedures and guidelines related to financial management including updating the intranet.

Collaborates with stakeholders, peers and other government agencies with the objective of gaining co-operation, influencing views and meeting timelines for delivery of project, service or advice.
