The City of Mandurah is looking for a dynamic, high-achieving, collaborative individual to support our Office of the Mayor and Councillors team in the position of Civic Events & Engagement Officer

You will be responsible for:

  • The coordination and delivery of quality civic events and functions.
  • Managing all administration aspects of event coordination.
  • Carrying out Civic community engagement activities/initiatives and events that help build the capacity of our community and Council.
  • Engaging with the community to promote Civic initiatives and encourage community participation in Civic events.
  • Providing efficient, effective and timely administrative support to Elected Members, the Office of the Mayor and Councillors and those who come into contact with the office.
  • Managing the hosting logistics for Council and Committee meetings and attend these meetings in the role of Usher.

To be successful you will have:

  • Qualification in Event Management and/or relevant work experience.
  • Significant experience in a highly administrative and customer-focused role.
  • Experience in community engagement and event delivery.
  • Knowledge of Council policies/practices and the operation of Local Government.
  • Hold a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and Senior First Aid certificate.

The finer details

This permanent part-time (30.4 hours per week) Level 5 position attracts a pro-rata salary range of $77,729 – $82,799 gross per annum dependent on qualifications and experience. Due to the nature of work and the need to attend Council and Committee meetings and other Civic events, it is essential that applicants are flexible in being able to work after hours and weekends when required.
