Lead the change, from the frontline
This is a pivotal role within the Strategy and Portfolio Development (SPD} team – responsible for leading Shell Energy’s strategic development and growth agenda.
Based in Perth, the Commercial Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, implementing, and delivering opportunities across Western Australia.
This position will report to, and work closely with the General Manager Portfolio Development (West).
With honesty, integrity and respect, you will:
Establish and lead a wide range of corporate development activities;
Develop business cases, scenario playbook, negotiate and execute transactions;
Lead and coordinate multi-disciplined teams;
Manage the preparation of executive papers, briefing notes and submissions for internal and external approval processes;
Develop and implement Shell Energy’s Western Australia strategic direction; and
Support senior executives and business units in emerging tasks.
What you’ll bring
Here’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role:
Extensive experience within the Western Australia energy sector and its competitive landscape;
Desirable / Advantageous to understand local energy market rules, regulatory and government policies;
Demonstrated experience in leading technical and commercial renewable / energy project development, and/or organisation wide strategy;
Track record in origination, negotiation, and development of projects to final investment decision;
Experience in managing multi-functional teams and interfacing with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders;
Excellent commercial acumen;
Ability to proficiently assimilate complex information and provide accurate advice (written and oral);
Self-starter with pragmatic and “can-do” attitude to problem solving; and
Flexible in taking responsibilities for emerging takes and willingness to take a “hands-on” approach.
