About the role:
We are looking for an experienced commercial data and reporting professional to join our team for 12-months to provide cover for maternity leave. This role will be reporting to the Retail Commercial Manager.
This role requires you to utilise your technical data capabilities to deliver insights which influence and drive commercial results for the retail business. You will be required to connect to, query, extract, validate, analyse, and report on complex data sets, while also being responsible for monitoring business controls and assurance processes.
Duties:
Extract and analyse data from various systems and warehouses, using the most effective tools and techniques, to convert into actionable insights for the business.
Lead commercial data matters, providing expertise to advice, inform and influence decision making.
Manage a control reporting framework to ensure operational systems utilised by the business are functioning both efficiently and accurately.
Utilise commercial acumen to identify opportunities for the business to reduce cost, increase revenue, and or reduce risk.
Manage the team’s business as usual activities, such as tariff optimisation, and participate in discrete commercial reviews such as contract and pricing reviews.
Skills and experience:
Ability to lead a small team, proactive, self-driven, high attention to detail and able to work autonomously.
Tertiary qualification in a Commerce, Economics, Data Analytics, Finance, Business or other relevant commercial, data or numeric related field.
Hands on experience in analytics and data tools, with a requirement to have SQL experience and Alteryx experience is desirable.
Experience in performing and leading varied commercial reviews and analysis to provide insights and influence decision making.
Experience compiling and communicating analytical results and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
Experience in the Australian gas and electricity markets including the technical, commercial and operational aspects.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Commercial Lead – Data & Reporting who is looking to lead a small team in a supportive and professional environment. You will lead and mentor a junior commercial analyst who will support you to coordinate the team’s business-as-usual (BAU) initiatives. The term of the role is 12-months but there may be potential for other internal opportunities after this term for the right candidate.
