About this opportunity

Yarra Trams is looking for enthusiastic, motivated and customer-focused individual to deliver a courteous, informative, accurate, friendly and the highest possible standard of customer service to our customers and intending customers at tram stops and on board our trams.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced customer service professional to make a significant contribution to the efficient running of our tram network.

Reporting into the Team Manager, Customer Support, the role involves:

  • Assisting customers on board trams and at stops by providing accurate and up to date service information on timetables, fares, travel options and connecting services;
  • Carrying out specific passenger information duties at special events, occupations and at times of service disruptions as directed;
  • Assisting customers to understand the myki ticketing system by providing correct information in a customer friendly and non-confrontational manner;
  • Promoting public transport services and Melbourne tourism attractions to tourists and commuters of the City Circle Tram.
  • Please note – we are looking for both permanent part-time and permanent full time candidates for this role.

About you

Ideally you will have:

  • Knowledge of the tram services, network, ticketing system and places of interest on public transport network;
  • Extensive face to face customer service experience;
  • Demonstrable ability to use new technology (smart phones and other electronic devices);
  • Exceptional presentation, communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work shift work, weekends and be prepared to work overtime as required.
