About the opportunity
Council will open the new Blacktown Exercise Sport and Technology Hub (BEST) in early 2023. This Transformational project includes a state of the art centre for health, education and sport, The Lodge, academy-style accommodation, and a brand new Physical Literacy space for the community. The BEST project will complement the existing facilities within the sports park which house sports such as AFL, Cricket, Softball, Baseball, Soccer and Athletics.
This role will allow the successful applicant to work with existing and new staff within the sports park and be based within the BEST facility on a permanent, full-time basis. An ideal candidate will work closely with the Precinct Director to deliver the Council’s vision for the international sports park in achieving the strategic aim of being a sporting and dynamic city.
This is not a regular Executive Assistant office-based role, it’s an exciting role where you will be the face of the Precinct and will be required to be out there most of the time.
Some of the duties include:
Filter the Precinct Directors’ telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner
Manage the Precinct Director’s diary and, where applicable section leads within the precinct
Preparation of relevant board reports associated with the precinct
Preparation of reports, correspondence, memorandums, and the like through the provision of secretarial services to the Precinct Director
Ensure administrative and operational staff understand when the precinct is likely to be busy and assist in preparing staff to offer exceptional customer service
Monitor and review annual business plans and budgets for the section and assist in the reporting of performance outcomes.
Qualifications and experience
Certificate IV or above in a related field
Extensive relevant work experience
Current class C driver’s licence.
Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations
Demonstrated commitment to customer service
Ability to work within a team environment
An understanding of and commitment to health and wellbeing is preferred
Exceptional inter-personal skills
Ability to work within a team environment
Demonstrated ability to work within local government.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
Entry level for this position starts at $1,538.00 per week
35-hour working week
Opportunity to participate in Council’s flextime arrangement
