The What
As a Fares & Ticketing Specialist, you will have a diverse and varied role. Here are just some of the things you’ll be getting involved with:
Provide day-to-day fares support for TAG’s APAC agent community as part of the Global Fares Desk
Assist with quoting complex air itineraries to achieve maximum earning potentials value for the client
Quality Control (QC) all PNRs to validate that the best available fares are always used and in cases where not – reaching out to the consultant and updating file
Deliver training to agents to improve fares and supplier knowledge across all operational divisions
Support operational booking agents with all day-to-day ticketing activities
Assist with bulk ticketing transactions
Help process complex ticket reissue requirements
Report fare problems to the airline and/or Director of Operations
Provide monthly reporting/stats on GFD activity to DOP and work together in providing/implementing solutions
Use and share expertise for net fares, consolidators and ‘creative ticketing’
Maintain up-to-date industry knowledge and TAG’s supplier programs
Contribute to the development and success of the Global Fares Desk
Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time

As a Fares & Ticketing Specialist, there are several credentials and attributes which would be advantageous, but a determined attitude and willingness to learn, are equally important.
Education to Degree level or higher OR in lieu of education – equivalent combination of education and directly related experience
3+ years front-line agent experience using Travelport Galileo
Experience of issuing e-tickets
Extensive knowledge of using agency net fares, client private fares, industry consolidator fares
Proven record of using a ‘creative ticket’ approach to achieve maximum earnings and client savings
Good understanding of airline commercial TMC arrangements
Good understanding of US fares and commissions
The Where and When
This is a full-time role 37.5 hours per week based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane office. Since March
2020 we have operated a flexible, hybrid approach to working and will continue to do this moving forward. We will work with you to find the best mix of office and home working that suits your life and the needs of the team.
You will report into the Director of Operations, who is based in Sydney. There are other regional teams based in Singapore, UK & US that you may work closely with too.
