About the role:
The catering unit provides food services (meals, snacks and beverages) to live in and live out recruits, staff, course attendees and guests at special events. Café Alfredo, the Victoria Police Academy’s onsite café seats 200 diners.

Meal service is comprised of breakfast and lunch 5 days per week and dinner 4 nights per week (Monday to Friday), including on public holidays.

This position reports to the Team Leader and Chef Manager.

Victoria Police is a contemporary and agile workplace and supports flexible working arrangements.

Your duties will include:
Customer service in the onsite café;

Espresso coffee making;

Stocking shelves, ordering stock;

Serving meals from the bain marie;

Cleaning the dining room and food service areas after meal services.

As the successful applicant, you will have:
Barista quality coffee making skills.

Customer service experience in a busy environment.

Point of Sale experience.

Food safety certificate.

Requirements and relevant information:
One full time, fixed term (until 25/06/2023) position available.

One (1) part time (0.3FTE) ongoing position available.

VPSG2 salary range $55,439 – $71,194 p.a. (pro-rata) + super + leave loading.

This position is located at Victoria Police Academy, View Mount Road, Glen Waverley.

This position requires shift work as indicated in the Position Description (as attached to the advertisement).

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.

In accordance with the Acting Chief Health Officer’s Direction – COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions, you are required to be fully vaccinated (this includes a booster vaccination) and your employment with Victoria Police is subject to proof of vaccination.
