An Exciting opportunity has arisen in Symbion Operations Underdale for a self-motivated and reliable Freight Coordinator. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor the Freight Coordinator is primarily responsible for ensuring that our outbound deliveries are managed to ensure the timely delivery of our products into our customer base. This involves the management of external transport providers and their drivers and our very busy dispatch area and function.
Key Responsibilities include
Ensuring our customer in-store delivery times are met
Managing delivery fleets and additional van requirements (overflow deliveries)
Working closely with other department to ensure driver wait times are reduced
Coordinate customer returns ensuring they are returned to the Warehouse.
Sending key delivery communications to other areas of the business.
Prioritising day to day tasks in an effective manner to achieve multiple performance objectives.
Training drivers in company procedures and processes.
Skills and experience
Strong operational transport knowledge, communication and organization skills, with previous experience in a similar position
Ability to coordinate a business’s transport function and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
Experience in coordinating deliveries and drivers to ensure the meeting of deadlines
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to develop positive relationships with staff, external drivers and service providers.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong background in Freight/transport coordination function
Knowledge of the practical management of Workplace Health & Safety, Equal Opportunity and Employee Relations and an understanding of the relevant legislation.
Experience within Quality Management environment. (ISO 9001:2015)
