Tooling and GSE Coordinator

Permanent full-time opportunity

Based at Perth Airport

Travel benefits for you and your family!

Hello. We’re Virgin Australia. And we’re back (in a big way).

We’re the airline that’s always done things a little different. Our way. The Virgin way. For us, flying is so much more than simply taking off and landing (although we understand that is quite important). It’s about going the extra mile, in the air and on the ground, to create authentic experiences that put our guests firmly at the heart of everything we do.

What you’ll be doing:
The Tooling and GSE role will be based at Perth Airport. This role is critical to our business with the day to day operations for our Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO). The role is responsible for oversight and control of calibration and servicing of all Ground Services Equipment (GSE) and tooling used within the AMO. This includes the operational areas within flight line and regional maintenance activities.

Who we’re looking for:
As the Tooling and GSE Coordinator you will be working within the Maintenance team and reporting through to the Maintenance Manager. You will be responsible for:

Supporting the company’s Certificate of Approval by providing technical and administrative support to ongoing operations of the business, whilst maintaining a customer and cost minimisation focus.

Ensure that all processes are carried out as per the VARA AMO MOE

Liaising with service providers when external equipment and services are required

Managing data and actual availability of GSE and Tooling

Liaise and correspond with customers, OEMs and vendors on technical and administrative matters relating to the management of Tooling and GSE as necessary

Analyse and action unserviceable TGSE and develop repair and/or maintenance plans as necessary to maintain serviceable status

Provide single point of contact for all TGSE maintenance, facilities and repair issues across the business.

Identify opportunities for optimisation of TGSE maintenance programs with respect to relative costs, lead times and risk.

What you will need to be successful:
Ability to obtain and hold an ASIC and Airside Drivers permit

Minimum 3 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance and or supply environment

Experience in an engineering environment in tool control and calibration procedures

Intermediate MS suite computer skills

Strong written and oral communication skills

Ability to write clear and concise technical instructions using technical language

Broad understanding of CASA and OEM regulations and instructions

High attention to detail and strong organisation skills

What you’ll get from us

We’re committed to looking after you, with some of the best benefits and conditions in the industry – including (but not limited to):

Heavily discounted air travel for you and your loved ones (including $1000 worth of travel credits per year)

Discounts on travel insurance, car hire, accommodation and experiences worldwide

Discounted Virgin Australia Lounge membership

Hospitality, retail, technology, beauty services and wellness discounts

Wellness support, including the betterme digital wellbeing platform

A comprehensive Employee Assistance Program, which offers confidential coaching and support from qualified professionals for all aspects of life – physical, mental, social and financial

Equality rules

We’re all individuals. We love that. That’s why we encourage applications from Indigenous Australians, people with disability, those from diverse cultural backgrounds, our friends in the LGBTQI+ community, and anyone else who wants to join our family.

COVID-19

The safety and security of our people, guests and operations come first. Always. That’s why we’ve put together a comprehensive ‘Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination Policy’. In a nutshell, to work with us, you’ll need to comply with our (and the airport’s) rules and regulations and be fully vaxxed.
