Start your Indigenous Land Management career with a traineeship through HVTC Group & Host Employer, Origin Energy.
About this opportunity
You will complete a Certificate III in Indigenous Land Management over 24months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with your Host Employer, Origin Energy.
Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to:
Assist with bushland regeneration works at Origin Power Station
Carry out land management duties including the identification of plant species and collection and extraction of seeds
Assist with lawn and grass maintenance including weed maintenance
Use handheld, battery operated and specialist tools of the trade to carry out tasks
Work across 11,000 hectares of bushland and within the greenhouse and maintenance workshop
Assist in general duties that are within the limits of the skills, competence and ability of a trainee
The successful applicant
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following capabilities and knowledge:
Commitment to both on and off the job training
Demonstrated interest and passion for Land Conservation
Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop new skills and knowledge
Ability to work in a team environment
Strong understanding of safety and manual handling techniques
Physically fit and capable of manual tasks
Mandatory Requirements
Current drivers licence (P1 or above)
White Card (or willingness to obtain)
Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment including a drug and alcohol screen and Hep B vaccination/s
