Your new role
In this great role you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of Information Technology systems as well as the support of organisational users. 

The IT Systems Administrator is also required to proactively manage a complex information systems environment to ensure peak performance and maximum uptime is achieved across the organisation’s Technology environment.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Active Directory and Group Policy management
  • Security administration
  • IT Environment documentation
  • Hardware management including physical and virtual servers
  • Administration of VMware Server
  • Administration of Print and Copy services
  • Backup monitoring and maintenance
  • Asset management
  • Mobile Device Management
  • Ticket Management, resolution and escalation
  • Application monitoring, support and maintenance
  • Systems Monitoring and proactive fault resolution

Your skills and experience should include:

  • A formal qualification in Information Technology or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years’ recent experience working for a recognised medium to large organisation
  • Previous experience working in a Service Desk / System Administration environment for a medium  organisation
  • Sound knowledge of TCP / IP networking and DNS principles
  • Good knowledge of the Microsoft server environment and Active Directory management
  • Exposure to the administration of numerous server operating systems and hypervisors including Linux / UNIX, Windows, VMware 
  • Previous experience with  Backup solutions.
  • Previous experience administering medium scale Active Directory deployments, cross-forest trusts and multi-domain environments
  • First hand exposure to cloud solutions, IaaS and/or SaaS administration, including but not limited to Office 365
  • Previous experience in networking monitoring, benchmarking and proactive incident resolution
  • Proven ability in scripting with tools such as PowerShell
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail

  • Systematic thinking
