The Bureau’s National Security and Space Program provides space weather warnings and alerts to sectors integral to Australia’s national security, economic prosperity, and community safety through government partners and key industry sectors to ensure they have the right information at the right time, to deliver on their goals.

The Manager, Australian Space Weather Forecasting Centre will lead a team comprising of a group of space weather forecasters and an operations manager.

The Manager Australian Space Weather Forecasting Centre will lead the Bureau’s day to day management and delivery of key warnings and alerts delivered to Defence, aviation, telecommunications, energy, resources, community and the space industry sectors. The requirement for these warnings and alerts will be guided by the space and space weather Customer Engagement team. The measure of success is ensuring these sectors receive timely, accurate, persistent and consistent space weather warnings and alerts from the Australian Space Weather Forecasting Centre.

As the Manager of the Australian Space Weather Forecasting Centre, you will be self-motivated, have a positive and creative outlook, will have a system approach, and an operational delivery outlook. You will need to ensure that the centre delivers clear messages and data to our key sectors to support decision making and achieve their goals.
