About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join UnitingSA’s Child, Youth and Family Services (CYFS) team in Port Adelaide as our NILS Microfinance Officer. The role is offered on a 12-month fixed term part-time contract. You will be responsible for promoting No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS) loans and other microfinance products, coordinate the establishment and administration of loans, and increase/maintain networks with agencies and service providers in the wider community.

What will you be doing?

Working collaboratively with Coordinator Financial Wellbeing Services and CYFS team, you will be responsible for liaising and building rapport with customers to guide them through the process and follow up on loan repayments. You will ensure accurate customer records are kept using the No Interest Loans database including loan data entry. Perform day to day administration duties including scheduling customer appointments and volunteer rosters.

About You

You will demonstrate a positive and professional “can-do” attitude, excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to work as a member of a team or autonomously when needed. You must have a current DHS Working with Children Check and demonstrated experience working with people on low incomes, and familiarity with mainstream and fringe credit options.

The successful candidate will hold a current Driver’s Licence and provide evidence of up to date COVID-19 and Influenza vaccinations.
