Full Job Description
The Nursing and Midwifery Simulation Manager is a core leadership role within the Work Integrated Learning Team and acts as a consultant in Simulation-Based Education to train Staff and inform simulation education within all entry to practice nursing and midwifery courses. This role provides leadership and support in the development of simulation scenarios and the application of high and medium fidelity simulators within an evidence-based teaching and learning framework.

The Nursing and Midwifery Simulation Manager is responsible for occupational safety and health matters related to the demonstration ward environment, management of resources required to undertake simulation learning and is asset custodian of simulation equipment.

Reporting to the Associate Dean, Work Integrated Learning, this position has a key role in the implementation of the School’s simulation learning strategy. The position is responsible for leading, resourcing, managing, and evaluating the simulation programs delivered within the demonstration wards of the School.

This is a key leadership role within the School which collaborates with staff and students; and provides line management to an extensive Clinical Practice Facilitation Team and Nursing Technician Team.

Key Criteria

Registered Nurse and/or Midwife

Post graduate qualification in nursing and/or midwifery

Extensive up-to-date applied knowledge of learning design and emerging technologies demonstrated by developing and designing innovative instructional materials including online, blended and face-to-face delivery

Demonstrated understanding and experience with adult learning

Extensive experience in the development of simulation scenarios for application across a range of teaching / learning situations

Extensive experience in the application of health care simulation modalities in a range of contexts

Ability to effectively lead teams

Benefits & Remuneration

This permanent, ongoing position attracts a salary of $122,934 to $128,562 pa plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
