Who we are:
The role: The Team Member Sportsfields is responsible for the maintenance and monitoring of Lismore City Council’s Sportsfields and in particular the line marking and setting out along with assisting with sporting field maintenance, preparation of turf wickets, mowing and goal post installation/removal and landscape maintenance.

This position is part of a multi-skilled team and is required too flexible and agile. From time to time, this role may be required to support more than one department as the need arises and provide support across the organisation as directed.

Maintain all sporting fields including turf wickets

Ensure appropriate weeding and fertilising programs are implemented and monitored

Operate and maintain small and medium plant items (truck and tractor for line marking)

Undertake line marking activities of sports fields

Assist in cleaning and litter collection of facilities before and after sporting events

Mow, spray and generally maintain parks, reserves, road reserves and sports field areas

Report acts of vandalism, broken or worn facilities

Co-operation with other team members of the Parks & Recreation domain

Assisting in other areas of the Parks and Gardens Sections

Assist Gardens team in landscape maintenance

Carry out other duties as required by Council

Act in the role of Leading Hand Sporting Fields as required.

Immunisation Program: Council has an immunisation program to provide employees with vaccinations against known health risks associated with their respective duties and to identify any exposure to products that may affect an employee’s health, fitness and wellbeing. This position has been identified as a risk to the employee and as such the successful applicant/s will be required to participate in the immunisation program and it is the applicant’s responsibility to have undertaken relevant immunisation/s prior to commencement with Council.
