About the Teams

The VCAT Reporting Team

(Internally known as the VCAT Preparations Team) is responsible for the preparation of reports to, and attendance of VCAT Guardianship and Administration hearings. The team provides an annual or triennial review of financial administration clients’ affairs at the time of their preparation for reassessment in consultation with the represented person, their relatives and other supports, as well as support to other teams within Financial Administration on matters relating to VCAT.

About the Role

The Personal Financial Consultants at State Trustees provide personal and tailored support to help individuals who, due to disability, illness or injury and are unable to manage their financial and legal affairs and have been appointed State Trustees as their administrator by VCAT.

This is a broad role that requires the successful candidate to demonstrate exceptional multi-tasking and prioritisation skills.

Skills & Experience

  • Ability to prepare professional standard correspondence, reports and recommendations
  • Ability to tailor conversations and interactions with persons who may have diverse capabilities and cultural backgrounds
  • Understanding of issues related to disability, particularly mental illness and aged related disability
  • Prior experience in working with persons with psychosocial disabilities or mental illness
  • Competent financial literacy

Administration experience within the financial, legal or disability sectors will help you secure this role, as will previous experience working with the finances of people living with disabilities.
