About the Team

The Safety, Environment and Regulation division upholds safety and sustainability in our transport system. We’re working to deliver globally-recognised, safe, sustainable transport for our people, customers and the community.

Within SER we have Regulatory Operations including the Vehicle Safety team which achieves safer vehicle outcomes in a variety of ways including through Vehicle Operations which maintains the integrity of the vehicle registration registers including the Written-Off Vehicle Register, the issuing of Vehicle Identification numbers, detecting and deterring illegal registrations and collaborating with other regulatory and law enforcement agencies to prevent vehicle fraud.

The opportunity

Right now, we have a Fixed Term opportunity for a Processing Support Officer who is responsible for delivery processing support activities for the Vehicle Identification Unit. The role is responsible for processing applications, maintaining databases, responding to inquiries and investigating and resolving customer and stakeholder issues.

About you

We are looking for a team player who has excellent communication skills both verbal and written, strong data entry and customer service skills with the ability to manage competing tasks.

This is a high volume environment with tight time constraints so you must be able to prioritise and manage your time well, while being professional, helpful and maintaining confidentiality at all times.

You will be flexible with the ability to operate well under pressure, while using your stakeholder engagement skills. You will be liaising with a variety of stakeholders both external and internal including the general public, Service NSW, insurance company assessors, auction houses, vehicle repairers and regulatory authorities from other jurisdictions.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is USS Grade 5 ($83,263 – $87,502) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
