About Us
We’re a technology company; that’s grown over the last 25-years from a single-computer to a $1billion ASX-300 company.
Our mission is “to make lottery easy”; and our vision is to be the leading global provider of digital lottery products and services. We aim to create the possible – both through the solutions we develop to help our lottery and not-for-profit partners raise more funds; and through enabling our people to innovate, grow and have fun in a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Our roots are in Brisbane, Australia, but our orientation is global; and encapsulates a 250+ strong multi-disciplinary team, working with a 10,000+ client-base and engaging with a 5 million+ player-base across Australia, the United Kingdom and North America.
Who are we looking for?
Product designers have a seat at the table at Jumbo. Our main goal is to improve the experience for the end-users of our products. We practise Design Thinking, and follow ‘First and Best’ principles that lay the foundation of our product process.
We are looking for a candidate that has;
Strong product design experience. You have several years experience designing for web/mobile applications, and solving complex UX/UI problems. You’ve experienced the ups and downs of designing product features, learning from customer feedback and iterating on the design.
Confident using the latest design tools. We expect you to have experience using Figma to create high-fidelity designs and prototypes – utilising features such as design system variants & auto-layout. However, you are also comfortable in jumping back into the Adobe suite when required.
Experience working with product designers, PMs, and engineers. You have the skills to communicate, and collaborate directly with engineers and members of the product team. And are happy to work in an agile environment.
Have the basics covered. You have a strong understanding of information architecture, interactive design, and are familiar with web accessibility best practices. You also have experience in HTML and CSS.
Able to champion design. You are self-motivated, with the ability to comfortably work asynchronously when required. You have a passion for design quality and consistency – and aren’t afraid to champion this internally. You care for creativity, and have a desire to further sharpen your product skills.
What will you be doing?
This opportunity will allow you to flex your visual, creative, and problem solving muscles. You will work amongst cross-functional teams, designing and optimising player facing solutions across our web and mobile platform. Our players are at the heart of what we do. So you will get the chance to facilitate regular customer interviews and testing. Defining problems and formulating insights.
These insights will then be used to inform design decisions and future work. You will oversee ideas from their inception, all the way through the development phase. Once implemented, you will get to measure success using world-class software.
As a team, we also embrace design details and quality. So you’ll get the chance to get your hands dirty in Figma, helping to build out a more scalable design system for our platform.
Partner with product managers and engineering. You will work closely with product managers and engineering teams. You’ll make sure teams are brought along the player’s journey, throughout all phases of the project.
Be accountable for design quality. We take pride in our work. So you’ll play a part in ensuring designs are kept to a high standard. Plus, you’ll take ownership and accountability for how product design is seen internally within the business. Helping teams understand the value of what we do.
Always looking for improvements. You will take responsibility in facilitating user research, and collecting qualitative/quantitative data. Breaking down insights into digestible pieces of information. That can be shared internally to influence change that can improve the product.
Be player-first. Our players are at the centre of what we do. You will be the voice of the player within the business. Ensuring that the customers’ needs are always put first, and you’ll strive to create a ‘best in class’ lottery experience.
Help scale the design team. Jumbo is in the middle of serious growth so the team is expected to keep growing. You will help set the foundations and assist in building our scalable design system. Working in Figma to create UI designs, develop design systems, and create beautiful prototypes.
As part of your application we are asking you to please attach a link to your portfolio which can be reviewed.
