These are exciting opportunities to work in a busy, social and sports focused environment, where your customer service skills will be put to great use greeting our members, providing program information to potential new users, and ensuring all our customers feel warmly welcomed and supported from the moment they enter our centres.

These part time positions offer a minimum of 20 hours of work each week and may be worked in blocks of 4-5 shifts per week with a minimum shift duration of 4 hours. Shifts will be on a set roster between the hours of 4.45am to 9pm over the span of 7 days with actual days rostered flexible for the right candidates.

These positions are required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Council will also be creating an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent and casual Reception Officer vacancies across Council Leisure and Aquatic Centres on the Central Coast.

Key activities of this role include:

  • Provide up-to-date and accurate information about centre facilities, services and programs to new and existing centre users, both in person and over the telephone;
  • Ensure our customers feel welcome upon arrival, and provide direction to activities and deal with enquiries and requests as required;
  • Collect entry fees, process membership applications, and carry out a range of administrative and financial procedures, including banking, word processing, mail outs, publicity distribution, and collection of forms and photocopying;
  • Accurately process membership and enrolment applications and follow guidelines on the sale or memberships and enrolments;
  • Prepare and sell kiosk items, and assist with keeping the centre clean and tidy.

About You:

  • You are a positive, warm and engaging customer service professional, who enjoys providing an exceptional customer experience;
  • You have experience in cash handling and operating point of sale equipment, along with knowledge of membership databases or other customer management systems;
  • You enjoy being part of a busy team, and helping others comes naturally to you;
  • Communication and problem solving skills are key strengths, and your interpersonal skills ensure you can connect with customers of all ages and backgrounds.

This role provides a commencing salary range of between $493.40 to $591.20 per week (based on 20 hours pw) + 10.5% superannuation. Penalty rates apply for weekend work.
