HSE is a specialist provider of large-scale mining services to Australia’s resources sector. In addition to providing earthmoving and other contract mining services, HSE provides heavy equipment rental to mining sites with its fleet of large-scale and ancillary earthmoving and excavating machinery.

Job description:
Known originally as Howard Springs Earthmoving (HSE), the business was established in 1991 by three business partners through their initial investment in a single front-end loader. HSE progressively expanded through acquiring more equipment and servicing larger projects, whose size and scale continued to expand with the growth of the business. HSE joined the Swire Group in 2013.

We are looking for experienced Safety Advisors to join our HSE Team. These roles will assist the Project Manager to ensure health, safety and environment obligations are met in accordance with the requirements of the Mining Services Agreement, the Site Safety Health Management System (SHMS) and the Queensland Coal Mining Act and associated Regulations.

About the role:
Assist HSE Mining’s site management team maintain compliance with the SHMS

Assist Supervisors and employees with incident investigations

Maintain accurate records of incident investigations and safety statistics within both HSE Mining’s Safety database and client databases

Assist Supervisors and employees with the development of Job Safety Analysis and Workplace Risk Assessments

Deliver Return to Work safety presentations

Coordinate workplace rehabilitation processes with HSE Mining’s Workplace Rehabilitation Coordinator

Conduct and coach Field Leadership safety engagements

Conduct internal audits of safety system processes

Promote a safety culture through values-based behaviours.

In order to be successful in this role, it is essential that candidates have:

Degree or Diploma in an associated discipline

ICAM Lead Investigator

RIIRIS301A – Apply Risk Management Processes (S1)

RIIOHS301A- Conduct Safety and Health Investigations (S2)

RIICOM301A – Communicate Information (S3)

RIIRIS402A – Implement and Maintain the Risk Management Process (G2)

Generic Surface Induction

Current QLD Coal Board Medical

Current open drivers license

Senior First Aid Certificate

Working knowledge of the Queensland Coal Mining Safety and Health Act and Regulations.

7 on 7 off roster, 12.5 hours
