About this role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Security & Ancillary Services Officer to join our security team to provide a client focused security service that protects staff, patients and visitors of St Andrew’s Hospital, whilst ensuring that all hospital property is secured. This important role will also assist in maintaining Hospital grounds and facilities, including waste management and administrative duties as directed. Other key responsibilities include:

Conduct regular, scheduled and ad hoc patrols and inspections of Hospital buildings, grounds and surrounds to protect property

Monitor access points and permit/control access to the Hospital outside of business and visiting hours

Assist the Concierge in controlling traffic and directing drivers in line with the Hospital’s standards of customer service, particularly at the Hospital’s front entrance

Report security incidents or unauthorised personnel to SA Police as required

Monitor or review CCTV footage and respond or report any perceived threats to Hospital management or police as required

Support the safety and security of Hospital employees (including agency staff) by escorting staff to vehicles as requested

Report and assist in addressing hazards to patient or staff safety through the Hospital’s safety management and incident reporting systems

Assist with waste management duties as assigned from clinical and non-clinical areas of the Hospital, including removal and replacement of bins at scheduled times

Assist with grounds maintenance and administrative duties as directed

Hours

This is a permanent full-time position working 152 hours across a 28-day roster cycle including day and night shifts of 12 hours in length.

About you

To perform this role successfully, it is preferred that candidates demonstrate:

A current and valid SA Security Agents Licence and Driver’s Licence

Strong verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills and a focus on providing superior customer service

Experience in providing in-house security services within a corporate environment

The ability to work independently and exercise sound professional judgement but equally be able to work effectively as part of a team.

Ability to follow policies and procedures and work methodically to identified time frames

A flexible and dedicated approach, sound attention to detail and initiative

To ensure the health and safety of employees within this position, preferred candidates will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical and functional assessment as relevant to the duties of the position.
