Chevron Australia Downstream is seeking to appoint a Specialist, Maintenance & Construction who will be responsible for ensuring that all general maintenance tasks (reactive and preventative) are completed across all retail service station sites within the applicable areas of responsibility. This includes ensuring that all maintenance activities and other project works are completed within timelines and budget, meet required design standards, and comply with Operational Excellence, Health, Environment & Safety (OEHES) standards. Reporting to the Team Lead Maintenance and Construction, this exciting opportunity is based in Townsville / Cairns, Queensland with regular domestic travel.

Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:

Work with stakeholders to prepare business cases for capital expenditures & major projects.

Develop implementation plans, schedules, and controls for general maintenance activities.

Approve payment for invoices and monitor costs of maintenance & projects.

Identify opportunity for continuous improvement of maintenance programs & projects.

Manages all OEHES processes and ensuring compliance.

Ensure that Safe Work Practices are understood and implemented, by both internal and external maintenance providers.

Execute maintenance strategies to optimize service levels and costs.

Develop and establish quality criteria and technical specifications within the scope of maintenance strategy.

Knowledge, skills and experience:
Minimum Year 12 preferred but not essential.

Trade qualification in a maintenance related field, preferred, but not essential.

Associated technical and/or commercial qualifications, preferred but not essential.

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a maintenance related role, preferred but not essential.

Experience in the Fuel / Oil / Petroleum industry preferred but not essential.

Knowledge and understanding of Work Place Clearance Group (WPCG), preferred but not essential. Will be a requirement to complete this training if not already accredited.

Experience in minor works project management, preferred but not essential.

Proven commercial experience including the development of maintenance plans and budgets and the analysis and interpretation of financial results (understand and read a P&L statement).

Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Suites and data management).

Knowledge of HSE requirements and responsibilities and a strong health and safety focus is critical.

Ability to manage a multitude of tasking at the same time.

Well-developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Results orientated.

Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders (internal and external).

Exceptional organisational and time management skills.

Good negotiation skills.

Ability to resolve conflicts, manage contractors to meet and exceed performance expectations.

Team player but able to work autonomously.

Critical thinking ability to create action plans and ensure effective implementation.

Ability to travel regularly within the state or interstate, as required.

Holds and maintains a current manual driver’s license.
