About the Role
As the Specialist Rail Operations, you will report to the Project Superintendent Rail Operations. You will provide support to the Rail Operations Supervisors and have an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development of Rail Operations.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Continuously improving Rail Operations safety and efficiency through operating discipline and technical interfaces.
Delivering various pipeline projects, campaigns and improvement initiatives from identification to completion.
Adhere to project standards and processes regarding estimating, scheduling, monitoring and reporting for Rail Operations.
Deliver effective Management of Change processes and stakeholder engagement.
Assist operations in the identification and resolution of system constraints and variability.
Build and sustain strong working relationships with the Port, Mines, RSM, Track and Engineering teams to improve safety and efficiency in Rail Operations.
Co-Ordinating between our Rail Operations Teams (Mainline, Mines, Yard and Operations Services to ensure improvements being implemented are safe, consistent and sustainable across our operations.
Assisting departmental efforts in WAVE and coach execution team members to manage their own projects and initiatives effectively.
As the successful applicant you will possess the following:
Experience working in a Rail environment with a demonstrated understanding of operational and safe working requirements;
Highly organised with sound time management and project management skills;
Practical experience in project delivery and/or business improvement;
An energetic and enthusiastic approach to work, with a drive to develop and learn;
Action oriented and strong attention to detail.
