About the role

Rio Tinto’s Rail Maintenance team has a new opportunity available for a Superintendent Track Machines to join the Rolling Stock Maintenance division at 7 Mile site, Dampier.

This role will be responsible for the planned and unplanned maintenance of the Rio Tinto Iron Ore track machine fleet, including tampers, flashbutt welders and mobile track equipment.

Reporting to the Manager, Rolling Stock Maintenance, this role will will be responsible for the leadership of a large team of sixty members, which includes Electricians & Mechanical Fitters based at 6 Mile & Tom Price. Your duties as part of this autonomous leadership role, will include :

Manage commercial relationships with equipment OEMs

Manage relationship with Rio Tinto track machine operations teams

Responsible for management of operational and maintenance budget

Responsible for fleet reliability and availability

Input into the defect elimination and performance improvement process

About you

This opportunity will require a collaborative leader with previous Superintendent experience in leading teams across various sites. Your professional experience will stem from fixed plant, mobile equipment maintenance or engineering.

You will have the ability and proven experience to work autonomously and define and execute improvement initiatives. Your sound ability to collaborate and engage with a variety of stakeholders will also see you succeed in this role.

You will have sound organisation skills, with the ability to influence, coach, problem-solve and have a natural passion in leading and empowering a diverse team.
