This position involves implementing the Initialit program in the Junior and middle year, with a demonstrated background of building Oral Language and Phonological awareness.
The successful applicant will demonstrate their commitment to high quality pedagogical practices to engage and improve learning for all students. The applicant should be willing to work collaboratively to improve learning outcomes and facilitate growth for all students through implementing our School Improvement Plan, focussing on student learning goals.
The successful applicant would be expected to have the capacity to differentiate learning using the Department Units of Work and Scope and Sequence, from year two to year four. Demonstrated ability to implement high pedagogical practices to engage learners is desirable.
They will be required to have knowledge and experience of:
- current innovative practices and pedagogies that increase student engagement and achievement including; Visible Learning, a systematic synthetic phonics approach e.g. Heggerty, Initial Lit, The Big Six Components of Reading and the Big Ideas in Number,
- key data sets to inform and assist in determining appropriate pedagogy including; Oral Reading Fluency, NAPLAN and PAT R/M data
- student wellbeing practice such as The Berry Street Model, Positive Behaviour for Learning and Interoception will support student engagement in learning.
