Full Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Venue / Hospitality Manager to manage and oversee operation of our Angove McLaren Vale cellar door and restaurant venue to maximize revenue, profitability and customer satisfaction, within the required legislative frameworks. This is a hands on, operational and diverse role that provides a fantastic opportunity to lead a dynamic cross functional team.

The Venue Manager will be responsible for:

  • Venue and financial management
  • Customer service
  • Management of employees
  • Ensuring compliance with legislative requirements including liquor licencing
  • Contractor, supplier and vendor management

Job Requirements

About you

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Tourism, Business Management / Administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in hospitality management.
  • Solid technical expertise and experience in food, beverage and hospitality management including knowledge of industry trends, best practice and regulations.
  • Strong financial management experience and knowledge (revenue, expense management, forecasting and budgeting).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make strategic decisions.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines and targets.
  • Inspiring and influential leadership skills.
  • Excellent product knowledge
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software applications; plus solid knowledge of POS, club and booking software packages.
  • A proven track record in managing teams within a multi functional venue.

Angove Family Winemakers is a 136 year old family owned and operated wine industry business. Our Angove McLaren Vale cellar door celebrated 10 years of operation in 2021 and the Angove family are focused on expanding our current tourism and hospitality offering and growing brand awareness and direct to customer sales.

Our Angove McLaren Vale operation is a vital and important component of the wider Angove Family Winemakers Group. While the Angove McLaren Vale business is a small team, we have access to exceptional resources and support of a broader, experienced production, administration, finance, IT, sales and marketing team.
