About the Unit/Team/Department
Mackay Hospital and Health Service’s Workforce Recruitment team recruit to a diverse multi-cultural workforce in addition to the hospital providing services to a vast multi-cultural community. As such many roles in the medical, nursing and professional fields require candidates recruited from overseas with a need of an Australian visa to lawfully hold work rights for employment in Australia. These candidates are not only unfamiliar with our country, but also the processes to gain access to Australia and as such require extensive support. This role provides migration and visa advice and support to those clients. As this service is specialised, the role also assists and provides advice to other HHS’s.
The purpose of the Visa Migration Advisor is to provide expert migration advice and support to the Executive Leadership team, Management and internal clients of MHHS on a broad range of visa and immigration matters focussed on policy, strategy and governance.

Mackay Hospital and Health Service has six hospitals, two multi-purpose health services and four community health centres that employ more than 3,300 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
