Your contribution

The Women’s goal is to ensure ‘Our patients and consumers are at the heart of everything we do’, and that ‘we will provide an exceptional patient and consumer experience that delivers improved health outcomes for women and newborns’. The Women’s Creating Exceptional Experiences strategy drives this strategic direction. Within the People and Patient Experience Directorate is the Patient and Visitor Services Team that brings together the Welcome Centre and Information Desk, Switchboard, Consumer Health Information and Volunteer Programs. The team’s remit is to complement the Women’s medical and clinical services by helping people navigate our clinics, wards and departments, resolve patient enquiries and find the health information they need.

Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:

Working across the Women’s Welcome Centre, Information Desk and ad hoc support of Consumer Health Information.

Support consumers, patients and families to access health information

Provide a welcoming safe space for consumers, patients and families

About you

To be successful within this role you will need to have:
Well-developed interpersonal skills, including customer service and stakeholder relationships

Ability to work with a high volume of enquiries, from both the public and staff

Understanding of the social determinents of health, and the relationship to health literacy and accessing health information.

Please be aware that in line with the Health Minister’s Covid-19 Mandatory Vaccination Order, all workers at the Women’s regardless of role, will be required to be fully vaccinated (3 doses) for COVID-19 or hold an acceptable medical exemption.

Influenza Vaccination Requirement

In line with the Health Services Amendment (Mandatory Vaccination of Healthcare Workers) Act 2020, some health care workers are now required to have their flu vaccination to work in health care. Evidence of vaccination is required.

As this role fits into category A or B of the departments risk ratings, applicants will be required to have been vaccinated against influenza. Evidence of vaccination is required.
