Band 5 – $73,296 to $85,054 pro rata (+ 10.5% super)
Council’s Youth Services unit is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced communications specialist to be our creative and youth-friendly engagement leader with the aim of building awareness of and participation in our youth programs and services.
The Youth Participation and Communications Officer is responsible for providing high quality internal and external communications and marketing that directly increases awareness, engagement and participation of the programs and services provided by the Youth Services team. The opportunity to lead this portfolio will align with Council’s “What Youth Want” engagement campaign and play a pivotal role in providing young people a voice in future service responses in Hobsons Bay.
YOU ARE:
Appropriately qualified for this role and can demonstrate your experience in effective communications and marketing delivery
A self- starter, motivated to create and implement creative, youth- focused engagement initiatives
Passionate, knowledgeable and experienced in effective communications planning, delivering and evaluation, ideally with or alongside young people
Familiar with the YACVic Code of Ethical Practice, Victorian Child Safe Standards, and the role of youth services in a local government setting
YOU CAN:
Hit the ground running! Manage a busy and exciting workload, delivering on a newly developed role that focuses on youth engagement and participation
Build trust, rapport and reputation with young people and their supporters/ stakeholders via appropriate communications channels and platforms
Work as part of a team of youth work professionals to engage young people and demonstrate outcomes through your efforts
Review, advise and provide sound recommendations on relevant and effective communications tools, platforms and plans.
